1. Initiate House Sorting (1 pt- Social)
Date: Thursday, November 5th
Time/Location: 5:30pm, Fung Auditorium
TBP’s first ever House Sorting! Come out to Fung on Thursday and see how TBP’s sorting hat decides the fate of our initiates. Old house members and leaders- meet the new groups of Beta (Blue), Psi (Red), Green (Pi) and Tau (Yellow).
2. TESC Blood Drive (2 pt- Outreach)
Date: Wednesday and Thursday, November 4th and 5th
Time/Location: all day, Library Walk
TESC blood drive on library walk. The org that donates the most amount of pints will win Decaf points. You can make an appointment for those days now here. Email Chris at a printscreen of your appointment verification to receive points!
3. Lab Sign up (2pt- Outreach)
Deadline: Saturday, November 7th
Do you work or volunteer in a lab on campus? Engineering Explorations will be having Lab Tours for high school students and would love to have your lab participate. The lab tour will be 5, 10 minute tours within an hour on Saturday, November 14th. This is a great way for TBP to get decaf points so please participate if you can. Email Maria if your lab is interested at (cc Chris at too)
4. Engineering Explorations Volunteer (1pt- Outreach)
Date: Saturday, Nov 7 Sign up ends, November 14th
Time/Location: 8:30am- 3:00pm, (volunteer for 1hr or more), UCSD Warren Mall
Engineering Explorations is an annual event for San Diego high school students interested in science, engineering, or college life in general. We need volunteers! This year we expect 100 high school students and their parents attending the event.

5. BMES/TBP Joint Mentor Mentee Bowling (1pt/hr- Social)
Date: Tuesday, November 10, 2009
Time/Location: 9:00-11:00pm, Mira Mesa Bowl
If you have a mentee give them a call or an email to attend the Mentor Mentee Bowling event! TBP and BMES will be covering all costs. Rides will be provided. RSVP by emailing Randy at
6. Tijuana Orphanage Trip (8 pt- Outreach)
Date: November 21, 2009 (Saturday)
Time: 8am to 4pm
Cost: $20 for TBP members/initiates OR $40 for non-members
Transportation and lunch will be provided, valid U.S. Passport is required.
TBP with the help of the Corazon de Vida Foundation
Corazon de Vida will be volunteering in Tijuana, providing fun activities for the children and serve a meal for them. If interested, please RSVP to Carmen at with the following information: Name, Email Address, Phone Number, Address, and Emergency Contact Info
7. Academic Research Connection (1pt- Academic)
Interested in undergraduate research at UCSD? As a member of Tau Beta Pi, you now have access to ARC! All you have to do is complete the simple survey (http://tbp.ucsd.edu/blog/programs/arc/) and Tau Beta Pi matches you with participating faculty and engage a dialogue between the you and faculty member. 8. Florence elementary Outreach (2pt- Outreach)
Every Monday, 2:00-4:00 pm
Want to help teach engineering principle while having fun with interested 5th graders? We facilitate weekly engineering activities every Monday at Florence Elementary. Contact Allan at or Ryan at for more info.
9. IM Volleyball (1 pt- Social)
Tuesday Nov 3rd at 9:00pm-10:00pm in RIMAC Arena.
TBP volleyball is an awesome event to know people as well as getting some exercise!
Just bring your student ID, comfy shoes and clothes.
Bring a volleyball if you have one for warm ups.
Try to show up early to sign in and warm up!

11. Tutoring (pts vary, Academic)
Interested in using your engineering knowledge to help other UCSD engineers succeed in their academics? Then become a TBP tutor! Please contact Aaron at if you are interested. Send your name, major, and class you are interested in tutoring for (make sure the class is offered this quarter).
12. Mentoring (pts vary, Academic)
If you are interested in helping freshman and sophomore engineering students become part of the engineering community then join our mentoring program. Give academic and career advice and enjoy fun events with your mentee for free! Contact Diana at for more info.
13. Faculty Lunch Program (1 pt)
Any active member may request funding from Tau Beta Pi to take a faculty member to lunch at any campus dining location. There is no limit to the number of times a student may take advantage of this program. Email Chris at for more details
