1. ThinkGREEN! Committee (1pt/hr Professional)
Want to get more involved in TBP? Last year we hosted 175 high school students from Lincoln High and La Costa Canyon High School. We encouraged higher education and STEM disciplines by having an all day event at UCSD consisting of Lab Tours, Windmill Design Competition, Lunch, Keynote Speeches, and a UC Application workshop. This year we want to have an even more amazing event. Join this committee and help plan this year’s ThinkGREEN event! Please email Allan at to join the committee. There will be committee meetings early next quarter.
2. Test Bank Committee (1pt/hour Professional)
This year TBP is trying to start a legitimate test bank. We will be drafting a proposal to submit to the engineering departments as well to the dean to ask for their permission to use past tests in our tutoring program. 3. Academic Research Connection (1pt- Academic)
Interested in undergraduate research at UCSD? As a member of Tau Beta Pi, you now have access to ARC! All you have to do is complete the simple survey (http://tbp.ucsd.edu/blog/programs/arc/) and Tau Beta Pi matches you with participating faculty and engage a dialogue between the you and faculty member. Interested in using your engineering knowledge to help other UCSD engineers succeed in their academics? Then become a TBP tutor! Please contact Aaron at if you are interested. Send your name, major, and class you are interested in tutoring for (make sure the class is offered this quarter).
6. Mentoring (pts vary, Academic/Social)
If you are interested in helping freshman and sophomore engineering students become part of the engineering community then join our mentoring program. Give academic and career advice and enjoy fun events with your mentee for free! Contact Diana at for more info.
7. Faculty Lunch Program (1 pt) Active Members only
Any active member may request funding from Tau Beta Pi to take a faculty member to lunch at any campus dining location. There is no limit to the number of times a student may take advantage of this program. Email Chris at for more details
8. Camp KDE 2010 (1pt/hr Professional)
January 15-22nd interactions with KDE developers and users, the UCSD student community, talks and presentations, BoF sessions, hackfests, a day trip and more, it promises to be a fun, informative and productive time for everyone.
