1. Georgia Institute of Technology Graduate Program (2 pt- academic)

Graduate Study in Mechanical Engineering

Date: Monday November 16th

Time/Location: 1:00-2:30pm, EBU2 Rm 584

Professor Neitzel will provide a brief overview of research and graduate programs in the Woodruff School for interested seniors in mechanical engineering and related disciplines, followed by a question and answer session.

3. IEEE Laser Tag (1pt/hr - Social)

Time/Location: 9:30pm-12am, Ultrazone (rides can be provided)

IEEE is hosting its annual lasertag event! TBP will be having their own 12-person team going head to head with other engineering orgs at UCSD. Represent TBP and have fun! Rides will be provided. Please RSVP with Randy at

4. Tijuana Orphanage Trip (8 pt- Community Service)

Date: Saturday November 21, 2009

Time: 8am to 4pm

Cost: $20 for TBP members/initiates OR $40 for non-members

Transportation and lunch will be provided, valid U.S. Passport is required.

TBP with the help of the Corazon de Vida Foundation

6. Academic Research Connection (1pt- Academic)

Interested in undergraduate research at UCSD? As a member of Tau Beta Pi, you now have access to ARC! All you have to do is complete the simple survey (http://tbp.ucsd.edu/blog/programs/arc/) and Tau Beta Pi matches you with participating faculty and engage a dialogue between the you and faculty member. Interested in using your engineering knowledge to help other UCSD engineers succeed in their academics? Then become a TBP tutor! Please contact Aaron at if you are interested. Send your name, major, and class you are interested in tutoring for (make sure the class is offered this quarter).

9. Mentoring (pts vary, Academic/Social)

If you are interested in helping freshman and sophomore engineering students become part of the engineering community then join our mentoring program. Give academic and career advice and enjoy fun events with your mentee for free! Contact Diana at for more info.

10. Faculty Lunch Program (1 pt) Active Members only

Any active member may request funding from Tau Beta Pi to take a faculty member to lunch at any campus dining location. There is no limit to the number of times a student may take advantage of this program. Email Chris at for more details
