Mentoring
Tau Beta Pi Mentor-Mentee Program focuses on helping engineering undergraduate students (primarily freshman and sophomores) connect with Tau Beta Pi members in the same major. By making connections between these two groups of engineering students we hope to aid participants in the Mentor-Mentee program in their selection of classes, provide input regarding professors, and help them get to know the engineering community at UCSD better.
Tau Beta Pi mentors can also direct students to get help with course specific tutoring if needed. There are many Tau Beta Pi activities that will be held throughout the year such as movie nights, paintballing, bowling, etc. for Mentee to meet and socialize with other Mentee and Tau Beta Pi members. This program provides an invaluable insight on major specific questions as well as a social network within the engineering community at UCSD.
Tutoring
Tau Beta Pi, in accordance with our model of applying our talents to help fellow students, offers a tutoring program. Participating students can be matched with a Tau Beta Pi tutor for individual academic assistance. Tau Beta Pi tutors are expected to assist their tutees to the best of their ability and profession courtesy. However, tutors are NOT obligated or entitled to do the students’ assignments! Tau Beta Pi tutors will receive participation points upon service.
If you are a student seeking tutoring, please have a look at the Tutoring Schedule below. Open hours will be held in the IDEA Study Lab (EBU I, Room 4600) starting in early November. In the meantime, lab hours will be held in the HKN Room (EBU I, Room 4512).
If you cannot make any of those hours, please fill out this form and you will be contacted when an appropriate tutor has been found.
If you wish to become a tutor for Tau Beta Pi, please fill out this form.
If you have any questions please feel free to email the
